Alignward Terms of Use
Effective August 30, 2026. These terms apply when you create or use an Alignward account.
Using Alignward
You must provide accurate account information, protect access to your authenticated ChatGPT account, and use Alignward only for lawful personal financial-planning purposes. You are responsible for activity performed through your account.
Planning guidance—not financial advice
Alignward provides budgeting calculations, organizational tools, estimates, and AI-assisted explanations. It is not a bank, fiduciary, investment adviser, tax adviser, credit counselor, or legal adviser. You remain responsible for every spending, saving, borrowing, and investment decision.
No autonomous money movement
Alignward does not move money, initiate payments, place trades, or modify accounts at a financial institution. Recommendations do not become transactions unless you separately authorize an action through the appropriate financial provider.
Connected financial information
If you connect an institution through Plaid, you authorize Alignward and Plaid to access the account information selected during Plaid Link. Institution coverage, refresh timing, pending transactions, and balances may be incomplete, delayed, or unavailable.
Accuracy and availability
Daily guidance depends on the information available to Alignward and the priorities you configure. You should verify balances, bills, due dates, and important obligations before acting. Alignward may pause guidance when the available information is incomplete or inconsistent.
AI-assisted explanations
AI responses explain the deterministic Alignward plan and may contain errors. They do not replace the authoritative calculations shown in the product, professional advice, or your own review of a financial decision.
Account access
Alignward may suspend access when necessary to protect the service, investigate misuse, comply with law, or prevent unauthorized access. You may request account deletion; deletion permanently removes stored plan data and requests disconnection of linked Plaid Items.
Third-party services
Alignward relies on services including ChatGPT for authentication, Plaid for financial-data connections, and OpenAI APIs for AI explanations. Your use of those services may also be subject to their own terms and privacy notices.
Service changes
Alignward is an evolving service. Features, institution availability, calculation methods, and these terms may change. Material changes will be presented through the service before they apply when required.
Limitation
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Alignward is provided without a guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or suitable for every financial circumstance. Do not rely on Alignward as the only record of an account balance, bill, debt, or obligation.
Your control remains central
Alignward provides a recommended route. You decide whether to spend, wait, save, change a priority, or disconnect an institution.
